Health Professional Education Program (HPEP)
The Nevada Office of WICHE was created to help Nevada students afford the cost of graduate/undergraduate medical education in occupational fields with high workforce demands and a shortage of providers. In exchange for funding, recipients agree to physically reside in Nevada and practice (employment) in your professional field upon completion of your education in a health profession shortage area (HPSA) or a medically underserved area.
Submit application by June 30, 2026, for Priority Consideration.
HPEP Nevada WICHE/USU College of Veterinary Medicine Stipend
The Nevada Office of WICHE entered into a contract with Utah State University (USU) for $8,000,000 to provide stipend to reduce the cost of out-of-state tuition for 70 residents of the State of Nevada to earn a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the College of Veterinary Medicine at USU during the period from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2034.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all slots are filled.
Professional Student Exchange Program (PSEP)
PSEP is a program that funds graduate education stipends to address critical healthcare needs in exchange for participants commitment to work in the State of Nevada once they graduate with their professional degree and practice license.
The PSEP program was created by the regional Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). Regional WICHE and the Nevada Office of WICHE work together in the selection process of Nevada PSEP stipend recipients.
The 2027-2028 Nevada WICHE PSEP application will be open January 11, 2027
