What is Nevada WICHE/Utah State University College of Veterinary Medicine Health Professional Education Program (HPEP) Stipend?

The Nevada Office of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) entered into a contract with Utah State University (USU) for $8,000,000 to provide stipend to reduce the cost of out-of-state tuition for 70 residents of the State of Nevada to earn a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)  from the College of Veterinary Medicine at USU during the period from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2034. The contract was approved by the Nevada WICHE Commissioners in April of 2024 and Nevada Interim Finance Committee in June 2024.

The Utah State University (USU) College of Veterinary Medicine has received the Letter of Reasonable Assurance for its Doctor of Veterinary Medicine four-year program and is now accepting applications for Fall 2026 through Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS).
